The Ancestors Hill development is tentatively planned and based upon local area families traditions of there being some original homesteaders and American Indian burial sites located in the northwest corner of the property.
If these traditions can be substantiated, we will immediately proceed with action with the State of Alabama to designate as much property as possible in conjunction with those sites as American Indian Sacred Grounds. Further the property owners, Silver Wings and Silver Eagle are committed totally to the preservation of these sites and will not allow or authorize the exhumation of remains.
The tentative plan associated with Ancestors Hill is the fencing and securing of the entire area in the northeast corner of our property and the preservation of the burial sites.
If an area in the Ancestor Hill area can be found without remains or burial sites, then there will be constructed a large Medicine Wheel in the magnitude of a minimum of 40-feet in diameter, surrounded by a low fence in which visitors may leave prayer ties.
Access to Ancestors Hill will only be through the Cherokee Village and a small bridge crossing the small creek flowing through the property.
